Im a junior in high school. AP classes: AP Psychology (A), AP Language (A), AP Chemistry (B), AP US History (C) College prep classes: Math Analysis (B), Korean 3 (A) SAT score: 1850 Extracurriculars: Club president (2yrs), club representative (2yrs), club vice president (2yrs), homecoming float committee president, Red Cross Club and Kiwins Club (planning on doing it for all 4 years), Renaissance Leadership (1/2 a year. it didn't fit with my schedule changes, planning on doing it next year so 1.5 years in total), office aide comm. service(1yr), sunday school teacher (2yrs), hospital volunteer (2yrs), track and field team (doing all 4 years), cross country team (1yr), Ran a bone marrow drive (2yrs), Volunteered at a blood drive (doing all 4 years), Taking supplemental college courses, ran the LA marathon (2yrs), Supplemental art courses (participated in some contests as well 1yr), LA Youth newspaper illustrator/ SENIOR writer (2yrs), I tutor high school math (2yrs), part-time worker (doing all 4 yrs), District scholar award (not that big of a deal, but hey its still an award). Recommendations: 1 good teacher recommendation, 1 okay, an outstanding counselor rec. (I havent applied to any colleges, but I already know who to ask). Do I have a chance at any decent college? I also want you to know that my school is extremely competitive and even the students that score a perfect SAT score and get 5's on AP tests have a difficult time managing straight A's. I also had a schedule mixup the first 6 weeks of school, so my grades got pretty messed up because of that. What would my chances be if I manages to get STRAIGHT A'S for the second semester? I'm confident that I can get the grades, now that my schedule is steady. Oh forgot.. I think my GPA is around 3.6 weighted.. not too sure, my psychology teacher hasn't entered her grades in because she was gone for 3 months. I'm pretty sure it will change.... Read More »
